We have copies, scans, and retyped documents that are historical recollections of Leaksville, Spray, Draper, and the surrounding area. As you read these, keep in mind when they were written. When we have retyped from sources that cannot be scanned or copied, we have tried to keep the same spellings and punctuations.
If anyone has material that would be suitable for this page, and you would be willing to share, please let us know. We hope to expand this collection over time to include church histories, family histories, and other recollections.
On October 13 and 14, in 1947, the community put on a pageant titled "The Land of Eden". Links to the program and the script with several pictures are found here. We are looking for more about this production, especially pictures and stories. Any momentos would also be appreciated.

Starting in 1948 the JC's sponsored an entry beauty/talent pageant that allowed the winner to move on to the Miss North Carolina Pageant. For one local young lady this path led all the way to the Miss America Pageant. We have begun collecting information on these Pageants. Clicking the Miss Tri City link will take you to the page where you can scroll down to view the information we have currently available about each year.
We are gathering information on traditional Service Stations that operated in the Leaksville, Spray, and Draper and immediate surrounding area. Clicking on Service Stations will take you to the information we have so far. Come back often, as new information will be added often.
